Pep Guardiola revealed that Vincent Kompany’s destiny is to become Manchester City manager.

Kompany has performed wonders at his first job in English football with Burnley, who are cantering to promotion from the Championship.

The Clarets – who face City in an FA Cup quarter-final later this month – are 19 points clear of third-placed Middlesbrough as they aim for an immediate return to the Premier League.

Kompany, who won four league titles during an 11-year spell at the Etihad Stadium, is expected to go back to City at some point and his managerial style has admirers within the hierarchy.
